Anyone submitting an application to the nursing program at WTCC this upcoming July for spring 2017? Wanted to connect with others who may be in my shoes. I'm still working on some prerequisites (TEAS and CNA) but hope to finish them up by May. I will be transferring most of my prerequisites in from another school.

Hey everyone,

Wish I would've met you yesterday NURSING 731. Thanks for beating me to the punch with the updates, I too had two little ones, diner, boxer dog and sick husband to attend to. All of what you posted was what I would've mentioned and also glad to announce for Aperegy that Mrs. Watkins plans on sending and completing all the applicants their acceptance letters TODAY 3/18/2016. As of yesterday she was on last name S.

Jpeteres247 I was hoping to meet you as well ! We probably saw each other and didn't even know :) . Do you remember the acceptance and alternate points she mentioned on that slide ?

She plans on sending out the letters today?! That's amazing!! I just wish I knew what the points were lol. It's so stressful. I honestly thought Spring would be lower than 150-160...that's basically the same as it was last year and that was with the extra 50 points!

What's BIO 163?

What were your points now APEREGOY? I think you'll be in there my friend. Like next week, you'll actually know!!!!!!!!!!!

I only had 156 points, so I was hoping that they would say Spring was lower points. I'm nervous I won't get in since Fall is always higher points.

Bio163 is basic A&P

Any chance she said the points for Fall were 150-160?! Ugh I can wish!

One of the advisors just emailed me back APeregy , I hope this helps !

Please keep in mind that the points range is still being calculated and will change for Fall 2016 due to the change in TEAS points.

Fall 2014 Spring 2015

Number of qualified applicants 188 140

Initial Accepted Points Range 211-246 186-246

Initial Alternate Points Range 190-210 152-185

Note: For Fall 2014, only 45 students were initially admitted, pending an expansion to the program. Once the expansion was approved, all students on the alternate list were granted admission. This is not a typical scenario.

A math course can be used for Math proficiency; however, MAT courses are not awarded for points.

Thank you,

It does and it doesn't lol. If they kept the points the same, I would have had 194 points, which was enough to get in last fall (from previous boards for Fall 2015, people with less than 190 got in as alternates)...so the base points (without TEAS) was 148 and my base is 144...I got 12 extra points since I got an 84 on the TEAS...someone said most people only get high enough of thenTEAS for 6 points, so that would be 154 with the base points from last year and the new TEAS points which would get me accepted... I guess I will see next week! It's so stressful haha

Yes it is ! Very !!! Sorry I couldn't help! I feel you will get in ! You would think since they are sending out letters now they would know what their acceptance points are by now. I was told by a lot of people if your envelope is thick that means you've been accepted but if it's thin it's a Denial letter. Good luck again I really hope you get in !!

I'm hoping I will have good news to share next week!

You will ! And if you happen to be an alernate don't be discouraged ! A lot of people are applying to more than 1 school and they may get accepted somewhere else and take that seat instead! And then there's other reason as to why some can't take their seats like pregnancy , not getting all the required documents in by the dead line and some may not feel mentally ready and may choose to wait the next semester. Prayer works also !!!
