What's the difference between non nursing GPA and nursing GPA? First of all, i'm not in nursing school. I'm a pre nursing student which means I'm completing my pre reqs for nursing school. So what do people mean when they say non nursing gpa & nursing gpa? Aren't all these classes for nursing school? I'm taking classesto get into the BSN program so I'm taking classes like sociology,,english comp 1, psychology, college algebra, statistics, microbiology, chemistry, a&p, biology, human growth & development, & more classes. It takes 67 hours in order to get into the BSN program.

It would really be your science pre-req gpa or your nursing school pre-req GPA. Most nursing programs will look more heavily at your science courses. Some of them will look at all the specific pre-reqs for their programs. So for the programs I'm applying for that would be A&P 1&2, Micro, Nutrition, Human Development, etc. They will also look at your other classes GPA but may not weigh them as heavily.

Mine is also like that . . . the nursing school looks at the nursing prereqs separately from the overall GPA. Those are, for me, intro. to psych, A&P 1 (with lab), A&P 2 (with lab), intro. to chem (with lab), intro. to micro (with lab), human development psych, and nutrition. Generally that means it is more important to have high grades in those classes than in what are considered the core classes (English, history, etc.).
