Hi! I’ve been a nurse for 3 years and I’m struggling to find the right job for me. I’ve worked on a general medical floor and currently work in an operating room. I really enjoy the OR most of the time, but I feel like it’s almost time to change things up again...There is a job posting in my area for Telehealth and was considering applying for that, but I don’t know what that would entail. Any recommendations on non hospital jobs?

There are a lot of nonhospital jobs out there. Telehealth is one of them. Insurance companies utilize nurses remotely. There are school nurses, clinic nurses, dialysis nurses, correctional health nursing, community health nursing, nursing education (requires an advanced degree usually), home health, LTACH, SNF and tons of others.
Good luck!

Since you enjoy the OR, look at out-patient surgi-centers many closed weekends and holidays without oncall responsibilities. Telehealth companies looking for those with current med surg/home health skills so application may not make it past application software.
Hope you can find a position in these pandemic times.

I've been a nurse 3 years as well and majority of my experience is non hospital. I've done outpatient wound care, triage nursing at a primary care clinic/community clinic, and I'm currently doing public health as a communicable disease nurse/TB nurse (public health pay is really low). I still feel like I'm struggling to find the right job for me too. I'm almost done with my MSN degree though. Just keep trying different areas until something feels right! Good luck!
