Non-hospital jobs...?

Ok, I've been reading up and just wanted to get some better information. I've applied to all hospitals, all jobs, all shifts. I've also applied to public health and primary care positions. At this point, most of the hospital recruiters have told me they're not hiring new grads. I have friends who have gotten in with the hospitals but it seems to be fairly slim-pickins. So, all of the experienced nurses out there, what should the new grads do? Should we just take whatever we can get right now? It's not like these public health/primary care jobs will give us the "acute care experience" hospitals are referring to but I don't know that I'll want to wait it out until a hospital comes through. I could probably guess what everyone will say but, I guess I just want to hear someone say that it's okay to take these other-than-hospital nursing positions. Thanks guys - this site has given me some pretty awesome info.

I've done the same thing. Try to keep applying. Also how about doing flu clinics? They accept new grads. There are a few in va. There are no benefits and it is short term. However it may help a little. Look on career builder or craiglist, or even here.
