Hello everyone!!
Has anyone heard anything about the north orange county rop program?? I can't find any previous threads about it.. Anyone that went there for their LVN or knows anyone that did and can answer my questions would be appreciated!!
I just took the pre-entrance exam and my chances don't look good because there were SOO many people taking it very frustrating because I've been trying to get into LVN or RN school for so long now.
I got 100% on both the reading and math sections so does anyone know what my chances might be??
ALso, does anyone have any information about the Fundamentals I class that you have to take before getting into the program?? Just wondering what to expect....
And of course I am wondering what to expect of the actual LVN program such as the teachers, how to get through the program successfully and any other advice!
Thank you for any advice/information you can give!! :)

How many points are you away from reaching the desired amount of points to enter the program??
I tried to get into this program before and its super competitive and it has a really good rep around OC. I couldn't get in because I didn't have CNA experience, no other previous medical experience, at the time didnt have Anatomy, Physiology or Microbiology done, no bachelors degree and no associates... so I was at quite a disadvantage.
After passing the easy entrance test, they place you in the fundamentals class for a semester. Boring information but if you pass with an A I think you get like 15 points or something, and a C you get like 5. Doesn't matter if you pass fundamentals with a C as long as you got enough points to enter in the program.
If anyone else is in the program, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I tried getting in about 1 1/2 year ago.
Thanks for the reply!!
I'm not sure how many points are required to get in but I think I will end up having a lot. I am just getting my CNA and will start working as one before the Fundamentals I class is over, I've also taken Anatomy, Micro, Physio, Med Terminology, Pharmacology, and Chemistry all with passing grades. I also have my Associates. So I THINK that I will be considered a good candidate but I'm not sure what all of the other people trying to get in have. So the Fundamentals I class is easy? I'm pretty sure I'll do fine in the class because of the background of classes I have, I just want to get in!!!
Awesome! Sounds like you have most of the points already. The fundamentals class should be a breeze for you and good luck on getting into the program !:)
Thank you!!! :)

Keep your options open. There are a lot of different LVN programs that are government funded. For example, Long Beach City College, Downey Adult School, Hacienda La Puente Adult School, and Rio Hondo College.
I'm letting you know that I was in the Fundamental I class of NOROP, but another public school (Hacienda La Puente Adult School) offered me to start sooner into their LVN program. I took the risk of enrolling into their program since I live in Garden Grove. Honestly, it's the best decision that I have made for myself.
My advice for you, don't give up and go to the orientations of the schools that I mentioned earlier. Good Luck!
