So I'm a new grad that was recently hired at a home health agency. The interview went great and based on what was said at the interview about company I was sold!
After a few ride alongs (with no paper work training) I felt ready to go. My first day I had 1 SOC, 1 ROC, 1 Recert, 1 DC, PICC care, Wound Care (yes, they are short staffed). And at the end of the day they were begging me to take another patient. So now I am at home with all this paperwork. I filled it out to the best of my ability and would like for someone in the office to go over it with me to give input on my mistakes so I can do better next time. Yet, I keep getting calls to do more SOCs. 3x my appointment with the DON has been cancelled and rescheduled (obviously not at my convenience). I refuse to do any more SOC's or ROC's until someone goes over the paper work with me but I think that the office is not responding positively to this course of action. I don't feel comfortable with my signature on the OASIS and not having a clear understanding. Am I asking for too much? Is there a source that I can use to familiarize myself with OASIS on my own?
I started reading your posts and now have a few more concerns about the company.
1. They are also in the process of moving over to a live charting in the home from our laptops or ipad. We have to pay for the hotspot wi-fi and for our own iPad.
2. They don't pay mileage.
3. It is common to text information about patients. They request that I text them report.
4. I've been sent to 3 wrong addresses
Any advice or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

All of that sounds very unprofessional. I would not be comfortable putting my license on the line. My company pays for everything: mileage, mi-fi, cell phone, laptop, and .55 per mile.

Run away! This is a money hungry agency and it sounds wildly inappropriate to not review OASIS with you.

I agree -run! You should not put your license on the line for a company. No OASIS training is ridiculous. The texting of pt info scares me.
Thank you all for your feedback! I did quit and am now working for a great company! I'm very happy and love what I do!
Wonderful!!!
