I have been trying to find a job for 2mth. Not one call back.. I feeling so discouraged. I thought becoming a LPN would save me from the job recession. I was so wrong.. Does anybody know of a facility that will hire new grads in the Tampa bay area?? Plz help!!!

I've been in the same boat for 9 months. I'm in Miami and it's REALLY bad here. I hope you can find something in tampa or perhaps central FLA. Good luck.
Wow!! Im sorry to hear that. I hope you find something soon too. Are you a LPN?

Brandon Regional Hopsital hired an LPN new grad friend of mine a year ago, I'm not sure if they are still hiring, but it's worth a look. Northside Hospital in St. Pete has been known to hire new grad LPNs as well. Hang in there and good luck.
Hospital jobs for LPNs are hard to come by, but new grad LPNs it's nearly impossible. Have you tried LTC and Rehab facilities? Jobs seem to be abundant for LPNs there and they pay more than hospitals in some cases.

I think you should figure out what progaram you are looking at LPN, according to my knowledge, LPN program is usually not very competative for entry, there will be 0 prerequiesite and duration of this course will be one year, additional you wont earn an associate degree. you will be just eligible for LPN licensure.
No I'm an RN/BSN with bls acls and pals under my belt to boot. They still say I'm under qualified at all of the hospitals and the LTC and hospice and home health just isn't taking anyone w/o at leat 2 years exp.

Keep applying at LTCs and be willing to work any shift including weekends.

I am an RN also in the Miami area. I graduated Dec.09 and still have not been able to find a job. I have even applied to other states. It seems the only way to get hired these days is by knowing someone on the inside. It's very frustrating and unfair.

I feel ya. And its worse being a military wife--we are moved to new cities where we dont know anyone, and even with experience, I think employeers look at our past work/school history and see that we move too often. I hope the economy picks up-- Ive been reading alot of articles lately that say we can expect more new grad jobs for nurses this year...
