No NCLEX results after 2 weeks?

Published

I took Nclex on July 15, 2015 and no results yet. My test stopped at 75 questions. I had a lot of SATA questions. I called BON in California, and they told me that PearsonVue hasn't sent my results to them. On breeze website says "pending." Has anyone experienced the same problem?

What problem would that be? California is notoriously slow about updating its website and processing applications, sending out pass/fail notices.

I don't believe that the representative from the BoN was being truthful if she actually told you that Pearson Vue hasn't sent the results to them yet. Results are electronically transmitted; even if your exam had a hold placed, they would have been released AT LEAST after a few days' time. If it's been two weeks, the BoN is sitting on it.

I suppose you can always call Pearson Vue and tell them the CA clerk denied having received any results, and to verify that results WERE transmitted to CA (and maybe when).

Typically, someone from CA will see an update on the BreEZe website in the first week or so after the exam; 3 weeks isn't unusual. It has been only two weeks for you. Hang in there!

I would expect that the BRN does, in fact, have your NCLEX results at this point. They just can't tell you that. They also likely have to wade through a pile of applications to reach yours. Once they've got your application in hand, they can then look up the NCLEX results that they have on file for you and then as long as everything is present and non-prohibiting for issuing a license, they'll issue your license and update BreEZe to reflect this change. Even though this is August now, a LOT of people graduated nursing school between the end of May and the first part of June. These graduates may not have had the opportunity to apply to take the NCLEX or even the IP until after they've graduated. Then their colleges and universities have to send transcripts in for evaluation. This takes time and eventually the graduate is allowed to take the NCLEX. I would imagine that a LOT of grads are doing this all about the same time now, leading to a mountain of paperwork for analysts to wade through. Eventually they'll get to yours, evaluate it and issue a license as long as everything is OK. I was very lucky. I got my license about 36 hours after walking out of the testing center. Some of my classmates had to wait 3 weeks or more for their licenses. If memory serves, most of those that had to wait also took their NCLEX during mid-July.

Today, I called BON. I told them that it has been 4 weeks since I took NCLEX. I requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said that there is nothing that hols my case, but he doesn't see my results in the system. He said that he will email pearsonvue to request my results. After 2 hours, my license was posted on Breeze website. I am so happy. I passed.
