2017 NMC UK Decision Letter

Published

Hi Guys,

I found an old thread from 2016 but wanted to start anew so we don't have to filter through 20+ pages. I submitted my application in June and it was placed on the queue on June 21. I am still anxiously waiting for my decision letter. My 40 working days is on the 16 August. Is there anyone else that submitted this at about the same time as me that's waiting to hear back?

Also - anyone have issues with clinical practice hours in university from the US? I was short by 25 hospital hours, but I did 187 hours volunteering at a hospital while I was in school. They said to include that in my transcript of training, that it should be ok but it would still need to be assessed like everything else, which leads me to believe it should be fine, albeit still so terrified! I have my family and my boyfriend waiting on me to get there and I can't wait any longer!!

Hi guys! I'm trying to help out a friend. All his documents were received on Oct. 12, but he submitted his online portal Oct.30. We haven't confirmed with NMC regarding his queue date is. During the past months, his reference forms were tagged as "document received", but then we checked, the "document received" beside the downloadable link isn't showing anymore. We've been trying to call NMC since his DL is long overdue. Any advice on what should we do? We're using the Viber Out to call 0044073336600 but it always ends up busy. Thanks, guys.

I don't know the effectivity of using viber to call, but if it isn't working, better spend on regular mobile credits. I always got through when I was calling NMC before.

Hi fellow nurses. I entered the queue on August 29, received my DL on November 7, got my COS on December 15, and now finished applying for the UK Visa last January 3. My agency opted for the priority service which guarantees processing time of 5 days. If you have any questions on the NMC process especially the DL let me know. I've also experienced being queried and luckily it only added an additional 10 days of waiting time.

Hi! What documents are needed for the visa application?

We were able to call NMC and they said they could not find the 2 references and declaration of good health but it was already tagged Received on Oct 12. :(

The agency can also avail the Premium lounge (additional 2K) for you to use the VIP lounge (couches, less lines, more personalized service, Krispy Kreme donut, and Del Monte drink)

I forgot to mention that each set of documents has a barcoded divider sheet of paper which you can print at home (A4 paper). You can find at the VFS website. Remember to get rid of any staple wires as they will scan this. So just submit clear photocopies of your documents and you can retain the originals and the entire process will last less than 15 minutes.

If your agency availed VIP lounge you also get free photocopy service for 50 pages. More than that and you pay 5 pesos per copy;

Here's my NMC timeline:

30 August- Initial queue date

24 October- NMC feedback (Further Info Required)- had to resend NBI, UK Police Cert, correct IELTS TRF, and 9-year gap from nursing practice

29 November- Resubmission. Back on the assessment queue

27 December- Emailed and called the NMC. They said my docs were not uploaded on 29 November

3 January 2018- Reuploaded docs. Back on the queue

5 January- DL received

It was a long wait for me. I nearly lost hope. There were days I couldn't focus or nights I couldn't sleep because of this. My IELTS expired the day before my initial assessment queue but it was not further questioned after sending a copy of my TRF.

Just be patient and not to rely on the generic response of the NMC about 30 to 60 working days assessment after resubmission of documents.

I got my DL within a week of persistently emailing and calling them, as I believe my DL was long overdue, and that the upload error was beyond my control.

I have been reading both frustrating and inspiring posts here. No worries, yours will be released soon!

Kapit lang! :)
