NMC LAPSE nightmare

Hello all can anyone please tell me if you let your NMC Reg lapse (numpty not just by name!!!!!) how long does it take to be processed??? if you go in t the office and pay the fee??? can you then work once you pa up????? :imbar :bluecry1:

you need to contact the NMC asap- ring them tomorrow! you should not be working- guess you know that! depends by how much its lapsed- talk to them! think they will send you a form and you pay your money!

3 yrs ago my employer asked to see my new PIN card it was only when i took the card out that i realised it was due to expire in 6 days. I rang NMC (UKCC) explained the situation, they were very understanding, they had not sent me my renewal letter, and sent me my re-regisraion form and nop form imediatly i returned them and was issued with my new card the day my old one ran out.

In the process of waiting to recieve my new card now again, have now been waiting 3 weeks to recieve card although my old one doesn,t expire till the 30/9 this time everything seems to be taking longer. As you are aware if PIN expires before receipt of new PIN you are legally not allowed to practice.

yup, happened to me, told by my employer to take holidays or have it put in my file. I got everything done by fax in a day, so you should be alright. two years ago I was in the nmc office to renew it and a woman next to me was telling the person she hadent renewed hers for 13 years!, she'd "forgotten"!
