NMC Decision Letter 2016

Published

Hi! Anyone here who knows how long it takes for the NMC to release a decision letter on your application, as I am anxiously waiting for mine for a little over a month now.

thanks!

Hello,

I graduated in 2010 and passed the board the same year been through various jobs for volunteer nurse (2010), call center agent (2011-2012), company nurse (2012-2013 )research nurse (2014-2015) and just had more than a year of staff nurse position in a hospital which was my most recent work experience (2016-2017). I just want to ask if it would be okay to just have 2 the referees from this hospital fill out the barcoded form for referees?or do i need to ask another from my employer where i worked as a clinical research nurse? Do they consider that? Thank you.

It would be better if your references come from different employers (1 from recent, 1 from past employers). Take note that references should either be a senior nurse or a doctor who supervised you at work.

Thank you for the reply. What if my employer prior to my hospital experience was not in a hospital settin but in a research facility since it was a clinical trial? Would they still consider that? Or would i just have wait for their feedback? I've read from previous thread that NMC will just have to ask for my CV in case I have to explain my experience gap. Thanks

Yes they will consider that. What's important is you worked as a nurse and your supervisor is in the nursing/medical field. For employment gaps though, I would suggest that you get your employer from your volunteer work as your reference 1. NMC will ask you if you practiced nursing right after you got your registration.

I wasn't able to have them filled out the reference form 1 because i thought they need the 2 most recent work experience, i mean the ones from the past three years. Anyway, i'll try my luck with the first 2 references from my recent work experience then i'll see what will happen from there. Thank you so much.

Hi! We have the same situation, I also did volunteer work at two hospitals before I finally had aregular job as staff nurse on the third one. What I did was to have my 2 reference forms to be filled out by my senior nurses from my my moat recent hospital. My Head Nurse and our Director of Nursing. My employer told me that it is much better that the forms will be answered by senior nurses rather than doctors. I hope this would help. Good luck! :)

Thank you for your response. That's what i plan to do. May I just ask if you have received your decision letter? Did you encounter any problem when it comes to the references you submitted?

Yes I already received mine last month. Thank God thr assessor did not ask me to resubmit any forms, questioned my gaps or required me to submit an updated CV, because i graduated 2011. By 2012 I did my volunteer work to my first two hospitals. After a year, I finally found an employer that offered me a regular post.

Congratulations! :) That's comforting. So, it truly depends on the assesor. I just hope that my docs be assessed by someone who will not require me with other docs, otherwise it would affect the waiting time. Thank you so much again.

Definitely! It depends on the assessor. Good luck and just be patient. :)

Hi hilaw21! Congratulations! Glad you received yours already. I'm on my 6th week and still waiting. Hope I can get your fb or email add if it's ok with you? Btw, do you know where will you be deployed and estimated date of departure? Thanks! God bless. Hope everything goes swiftly.

Hello nurses,

I just want to ask regarding the declaration of good health because the doctor who filled out the form wrote "internal medicine" in the position being an IM doctor. Is that okay? Thank you.
