NLN Study Guide Self-Testing

Hi guys, I have recently purchased the "RN Pre-Entrance Exam Study Guide" (from National League of Nursing) and am doing the self-tests. So far, I'm working on the verbal section. English has always been one of my best subjects and for some reason, I am doing HORRIBLY on these self-tests!! I'm not really sure what I should do at this point, I am terrified I'm going to do terrible on the NLN exam! There are 3 sections to the verbal part, and I have not started the math self-tests yet (these are next). I even time myself! (They give you 45 mins for each section of the test). I'm just not sure what I'm doing wrong. Did anyone else use this book or have this problem? I'm really starting to worry about whether I'm going to get accepted into nursing school because of my NLN exam grade! I appreciate any insight you guys could give me out there!! Thanks :)
