NLN PAX-PN entrance exam

U.S.A. New York

I just want to pick everyone's brain that has taken this exam. I've searched on this site for info but there isn't a lot on here. More people have taken other tests like the NET, TEAS, etc... Anyway, how hard is the test? Do you remember anything that was on it? What should I REALLY focus on? I really NEED to get a great composite score on the test so I can at least be considered for the program. I have mostly B's on my pre-reqs and I just want to up my chances a little bit. Also, does anyone know of any great sites to get practice questions? I have the NLN RN pre-entrance exam book that I'm studying from. I figure the RN test might be a little harder than the PN test so if I know what's in the RN book I'll know what's on the PN test. Wait, did that make sense? lol yeah so I'd love any and all info on this test. Thank you all!!!:redbeathe

I got my scores letter today. I got a 99, which the school said is "the highest you can get."

verbal = 59 of 60

math = 30 of 40 (Rolled in there after a 2.5hr drive with a 5AM departure. Must have not had eoungh coffee, LOL! I can do math better than that.)

science = 51 of 60

There's a chemistry question with an element, N, I think, that had electron dots around it. There's one or two of those types of things in the McGraw Hill general nursing pre-exam, too. It's from freshman chemistry or HS chem.

That McGraw Hill book, as it turns out, is pretty similar to the others. I still think that HESI book is the best reference overall. The subject material in that guide is more advanced than the others I listed.

Good luck! Admissions is a dog-eat-dog world. (bark, bark, woof, woof, woof, SNAAAP! ) Go get 'em! :D

Correction to previous post" The math had a figure-out-the angle prob. A set of 2 parallel horizontal lines and one line diagonally INTERSECTING them.

Hey there, I just took my NLN test today, I think i did really good in math but the eng and science i dnt think i did so good, do you think i will at least be in the 70's percentile?

ok super nervous about, getting into a program, them not excepting my pre req i took while i went to school 9 yrs ago for vet tech, never graduated... This is all new to me, I have been working in the medical field for 9 years as a vet nurse, so I know the medical terminology and other useful tools, main worry is finding a school, retaking classses again possibly, how can i afford this.. any input from anyone.
