NLN Exam today - do I cry or not??

Published

Holy. Crap. I am so confused and frustrated that I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I took the NLN entrance exam earlier this morning and after getting to the Science portion, I was dumbfounded. I was totally unprepared for that portion of the test and to make matters worse, I do not know how to interpret my scores. From what I've read, it seems the Composite Score and the Composite Percentile Score are the 2 that are used to determine eligibility but that's useless if I don't know what my school's acceptance standards are. My composite score is 129 and the composite percentile is 91. Again, back to the same dilemma: laugh or cry? 4 weeks of waiting and worrying now....sigh. :confused:

Congrats! You will do just fine! Thank you for posting, it makes me feel much better about my chances.:yeah:

So...how did everyone do? I made it so I am sure everyone else did too. I will be going to the night class.:nurse:

I just took the test last Saturday, February 26th. After weeks of studying, the science questions were like nothing in the book. For those who think the MacDonald book would help, it does not. They had very few questions on anatomy and chemistry. A lot of electrical and physics questions. The verbal and math were easier for me and I really thought I would do well on science. We need at least 60% to get in to my nursing school but since there are so many applicants, you have to score at least 90% or better. I am worried but if I don't get into this school, I will have to go and get a BSN which is way more expensive and since I already have a bachelor degree I would prefer the RN. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results?

For the people that took the exam at Travis;

I am taking the test on Sept. 21st, less than a week from now.

Im really worried about passing this exam because I've heard from people that is extremely hard. Im not so worried about the reading and math portion as much as I am on the science part.

Do ya'll have any tips for what I should study for on the science portion of the test?
