NJCU ABSN 2021

Published

Since I did not see any threads for NJCU ABSN 2021, thought I start it off. Anyone started/submitted their application yet?

Wall, I know it's a smaller class size but it's much closer to me. You're doing Jersey City?

In Nursing CAS can you just remove the Wall program and add in the JC one instead? They're two separate programs. You'll probably have to re upload everything but you still have time if you're doing JC.

Sorry I completely forgot the major part of this being that it's for my HESI score. My application on NursingCAS is for JC and I haven't submitted it yet, but when I took my HESI today it said "Wall Township". Double checked and sure enough, I used the wrong department I.D. I emailed the nursing department but that might take a while so I was wondering if anyone had a specific person to email for questions regarding the ABSN program.

Hi Everyone! Does anyone have a specific contact for the JC nursing department? I accidentally signed up for the wall campus one instead of the JC. I have no idea how the hell I managed to do that, but I'm hoping I can fix it.

Hey Amber,

On the Nursing Cas Application it says this,

"*Due to high-call volume during the admission cycle, application inquiries will not be answered by phone.  Please email all inquiries to: [email protected] (Approximately 5-10 business days for a response)."

Not sure if that will help but thats the only contact info I've seen. Hope it works out!

Hey Everyone!

So I just took the TEAS yesterday and wow was that a lot harder than the HESI (In my opinion)! Thankfully I scored high enough to be able to apply to St. Peters as well. I know this is a thread for NJCU but I feel like a lot of us will be applying to both. I was wondering which one everyone is leaning towards? If there are any specific pros or cons? If I had to pick between the two (If I get accepted of course), I honestly wouldn't know which direction to go in. Wanted to hear some thougths from peope who are in the same boat.

Thanks!

Heyyy ! Yeah the TEAS is weird .  I took it twice and there wasn’t much of a score difference LOL .  But I would probably choose NJCU . No specific reason really other than I got my bachelors degree there LOL . I’ve also heard many great things about NJCU program but I haven’t heard anything about St. Peter’s

Hi - I’m currently in the Wall Cohort for NJCU. I had the same issue when I applied. You can contact Samantha Younker....

Thank you so much! I ended up emailing the general nursing department's email address and Samantha was the one who got back to me. She seems slightly peeved by my mistake, so hopefully she isn't one of the people that has a say in admission decisions ?

Hi! I'm leaning towards Rutgers just because it's easier for me to get to and also starts in the Summer. However, I don't think I am qualified because I have a science course in progress. I applied anyway just to see what would happen, considering they're a large program and all.

My sister's coworker did the ABSN program at St. Peters and enjoyed it. My only issue with it is that on their website it says we are not eligible for any scholarships or financial aid since we are second-degree students. So, with that being said, of the programs I actually meet the requirements for, NJCU JC is my top!

Hi all, submitted my application beginning of January and just recently took my HESI A2 , bio was definitely my lowest but still scored above 80% culmative score . Do you guys know if Njcu looks at each score of the 6 sections to determine approval or is it just culmative (what says on there website)?  Hopefully I can get accepted but reading along I see that this program is very competitive.

I believe it is just cumulative. I also submitted mines earlier in January . I put in so much effort on my personal statement so I hope I make it in

Same here! Hopefully we get in. I know there's alot of things that they look at. GPA, classes required scores, HESI and essay. So nervous ! And good luck to us all. I think we hear back 3-4 weeks after deadline (Feb 28th) . Fingers crossed.
