Hey guys,
I was interested in applying at NJCU ABSN program. I was wondering if any of you guys have applied or gone there for their program. I was wondering how competitive, how good, and what the job opportunities after the completion of the program were. Any advice would be good. Thanks :)

I am currently in the program! It's a lot of work but do-able! It's a good program and opportunity! There is no job placement but the last cohort seems to have found employment :)

Hey believe99,
Just saw your response. THE HESI wasn't bad. Just review and you'll be fine. I am also applying to jersey city cohort. Good luck on your exam :)

Hi,
I applied to NJCU JC cohort for Fall 2013. I took the Hesi exam last Sat. The question itself is not hard, but the range the questions ask is really broad, especially Bio and ANP. I didn't do good on the test. Do you know how heavily the school weighs the Hesi score for reviewing the application?

hey guys i also applied to the NJCU jc cohort for fall 2013. From what i've heard and read in past posts, HESI score is one of the most important things they look at along with GPA and grades for pre-reqs. I do agree the HESI is very broad but I studied the guide and my past notes on those classes and did well. Crossing fingers!
@blueangel2241,
Did you finish all pre-reqs? If you don't mind, how's your credentials?
I have BA GPA 3.64 MA GPA 3.5 with all pre-reqs A's. However, I am not satisfied with Hesi score, 88%.
I desperately want to get in the program like all applicants.
hey @seong69
i had a 3.3 gpa just graduated last May. I just finished pre-reqs in December lowest was a B which sucks but i got a 92 on the HESI. From what I've read in past posts, people have gotten in with gpas close to mine and lower HESI scores. But idk now because there's so many applicants. Im praying !!

The wait is always a pain. I have undergrad 3.4, post BS 3.8 and HESI 93. According to past post this should be okay but the pool of applicants has improved over the yrs.
@blueangel2241 & soyouwant,
You guys did great on HESI...I hoped I could get over 90, but failed. I hope the admission committee reviews some other factors together and I can get in the program. Hope to see you in the class!
seong69,
I agree! i was banking for a 90 and over. class averages on the test seem to range around 83 so i wanted a little cushion but im hoping they look at the essay and recommendations as well

Are chemistry and physics on the HESI for NJCU BNS?
