Nipissing SPP 2020 Applicants

Hi! I am applying to Nipissing's Scholar Practitioner Program for Fall 2020. I am really excited about it and would love to connect with other students who are in the same boat!

How is your application going?

I think invites from last year went out on February 27th!! So they will probably come out in the last week of February, wish it was sooner the waiting game is so hard!!

It's so hard to wait. Now I'm thinking maybe my personal statement isn't solid enough, different thoughts just going through my mind. I ll just try to be calm.

Waiting can be the toughest stage of this process because this is the stage where all the overthinking and self-doubt happens. Getting into this program means a lot so it is hard not to be anxious about it. I am in a very similar headspace and I know it helps to talk things through so if you ever want to talk about it, feel free to private message me!

Hello everyone! I am so glad I found this group because I have been feeling super excited/anxious about hearing back from this program! I currently am in my fourth year at Wilfrid Laurier University in Biology minor in Psychology! I have many years of volunteer experience in hospitals as well as retirement homes in Toronto! I currently have around a B+ average in my top 10 credits. I am hoping that my CASPer results and my personal essay will be enough to get me an interview for the program! I wish everyone the best of luck with this process! ?

Did anyone by any chance ask the Admissions department when we can expect to hear back from them? I know the invites should go out this week...but I'm wondering if anyone has reached out and know the exact date?

I called last week. I wasn't given any specific information. I was only told the committee is still reviewing reference letter and personal statement of applicants that met academic requirements.

I'm not sure they understand how difficult it is to wait ??

Is it true that they give interviews to everyone who meets the minimum requirements? Or is there some criteria you need to meet?

I asked a few days ago and was told that invites would be going out in the "upcoming weeks" so it might not even be this week. Hope we hear sooner than later!
