Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022
@desque 1. The program is actually 2 years long (23 months to be exact). There are 3 semesters each year, so fall, Winter, and Summer semesters. You get about a month off between each semester which is really nice. Each semester you have 3 weeks of full time classes Monday-Friday at the start and then 24 hours of clinical each week for 9 weeks. The last week is reflection phase of classes again. Often times, there will be tests, simulations, etc during this time. 2. No, we do not have formal courses in patho and anatomy. You will spend 90% of your time in placement where you are getting hands on experience. This is a huge advantage of the program, especially since you get 1:1 preceptorships. Clinical and putting together a learning plan/portfolio each semester is where you learn your medications, diseases, etc. I recommend reading the documents under "Program Resources" on SPP's website for more information. Hope that helps!

@Kayla810 Nipissing's offers typically don't go out until after interviews are granted/conducted which is normally end of March/beginning of April time (fyi interviews were cancelled this year due to COVID so not sure if they will be held next March or not)

I would suggest writing your program specifically if you are concerned but I asked the program director of mine (SPP Nipissing) and she said that it wouldn't be a problem to pursue graduate studies afterwards and that several students have done it before with no issues. Not sure about your question about GPA though.

@Nursetobe2022 I highly recommend taking A&P at York University (IHST 1001 and 1002). It runs from Sept - Apr and the prof that teaches it was so amazing! I was dreading A&P but it ended up being my fav class :)

@Nursetobe2022 FYI - I believe not many people are taken off the waitlist for Humber because its program is unique in that it offers that prep semester. So I would think a majority of the people attending would have to go there and cannot apply to other schools and or would not be dropping out to accept offers elsewhere.. Hope that helps!

@aspiringnurse09 As @s928 mentioned, everything was sent to waitlist students in a link so no need to send out more documents. However, I did receive the VSS form via email. That's all that was needed.

@AmeliaWan I am undecided at this point. I am in the same situation as you. UofT can you take you off the waitlist up until the very last week before school starts it would have to be a quick turnover. And you would lose your deposit of 500$ most likely if you made the switch last minute - just something to keep in mind.

I agree with you - the process is a bit confusing and the email was vague. The email technically refers to the link that states that everything is due Aug 1... which doesn't make sense if they told you that we are just "holding on to our documents" until we get the call... I just hope they give us more info regarding documents etc once they have their waitlist compiled after the due date, July 6?
