Night walkers diet

Working night shift can be awesome and the pits all wrapped up in one 12 hr shift. Eating can be difficult because the cafeteria in most facilities is closed. I have found myself eating junk a lot more just to snack to stay awake. What kind of foods do you bring that are healthy but satisfying at the same time (sorry but not one of those people who can eat a handful of almonds and not still be hungry) I have a VERY fast metabolism so I basically eat a little bit at a time all through the night to keep my energy levels up and also suffer from hypoglycemia.

When I worked 12-hour nights I ate deviled eggs, baked chicken drumsticks, protein bars, thinly sliced roast beef, string cheese, and salads with grilled chicken. You'll notice that all of these options have high protein contents.

Our cafeteria is open until 0400 so I eat a lot of food from the cafeteria. Taco Tuesdays are a must! We also order out a lot - Chinese, Japanese, pizza, Jimmy John's, etc.

I like bringing those microwave safe containers of Campbell's Chunky soups whenever I can remember to buy them. I am especially partial to the kickin' buffalo-style chicken, the pot pie soup, and the grilled chicken and sausage gumbo.
