Hi Friends :)
My local hospice is advertising for a night shift LPN. Does anyone know what the usual duties and requirements are for a night shift LPN at a hospice facility? I would sure like to get out of LTC. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hospice nurses please help me. :) I've never worked hospice and have no idea what LPN's do at hospice.

You should contact the hospice and ask them that question because much depends on their setup. You need to know if you would be the only nurse on the floor and how many patients maximum there would be. Also you need to know how involved their interventions are there. Our unit is very small (just 5 beds) so a nurse and an aide do it all for the patients there...giving meds, doing personal care, laundry, serving meals, etc.

I would call and ask the potential employer......

Thanks aimeee and renerian. :) I hope hospice will call me and give me an interview. LTC is getting to be too much for me.
