Nicu Salaries in Los Angeles Area

Published

Hi, I'm wondering if there are any NICU nurses in the Los Angeles/ Ventura area who are willing to share their salaries and any information about the hospital they work at with me? I am in the Los Angeles area, about to enter nursing school, and want to know what my option are for the NICU. Of course loving my job is most important, but God knows you need $$$ to live out here!!

Any info would be great!

Thanks!!

Salary is the same in the same facility, it does not vary as to the unit. RNs are paid the same when they start, and with the amount of experience.

You may see about $0.25 more if you get your BSN.

Salaries now will be different than what they will be in a couple of years. But so will the housing. Most are in the high $20s to start for the LA area currently.

Call me naive, but why is this? Are prices of houses climbing as fast there as they are in my neck of the woods? If this is the case, our salaries have no hope of climbing, even though real estate has jumped 59% in 1 and a half years.

They are already in the $600,000 range for a small home here, and continuing to go up. Supply and demand is a big part of it.
