U.S.A. Virginia

I am a NICU nurse relocating to Norfolk from FL. I am looking for a prn position in a NICU. The Kings Daughters only has full time positions listed on their website. Is there another NICU in the Norfolk area? Do The Kings Daughters ever hire PRN positions for their NICU?

You may want to try some of our local hospitals.

Chesapeake Regional (aka Chesapeake General Hosp)

Bon Secours Depaul or Maryview

Sentara Hospitals (Norfolk General, Virginia Beach General, Leigh Memorial)

www.sentra.com We also have two hospitals on the memberula Sentara Careplex and Williamsburg if you are willing to travel. Sentara also has a flexpool.

It's worth giving CHKD a call and talking to their Nurse Recruiter. What they are willing to do will probably depend on how much experience you have and whether or not you are willing to compromise a little. They have the only Level IV NICU in the region. A few other hospitals have lower level nurseries, however, and they may have other scheduling options that interest you.

Yea you should definitely give them a call. I did my clinical there in April and when we went to the NICU the nurses we literally begging us to go talk the the nurse recruiter. Two of my classes mates were hired in the NICU before graduation. They probably are willing take all the help they can get.

... I forgot to add to my previous post. They are in the process of expanding their unit by about 20%. So, they are needing experienced NICU nurses to increase their staffing to cover those new beds. It can't hurt to at least talk with the recruiter.
