One of my dialysis patients went to his local health dept. to see if they had any flu vaccine. They explained that they only got 5 doses, enough for their nurses. Then one RN came forward and stated to them (patient and his wife), "You are very immuno-compromised, you need this worse than I do...you can have mine!"I thought that was very, very noble. Our facility will be getting some vaccine in the next 2-3 weeks, and we have called that nurse to have her come to our facility when we get our vaccine in...so we can share the favor!
I think that is really a neat story and appreciate your sharing. What a great bunch of compassionate nurses you all are!! :)
