Anyone waiting to hear from NHCTC-Manch for fall 08???
Here's the scoop--There are 30 people on the wait list. Last year there were 90 and the school went through the entire list. The people in admissions are standing firm that all on this year's wait list will get in, because many other people end up going to other schools they applied to, or lose interest, ect.
I'm hoping that this is true, but I'm not going to completely rely on it. Because of financial reasons, and everything else--This is pretty much it for me, and I SO WANT IN!
Hopefully this helps, corpsman! I'm crossing my fingers and toes for the both of us!
Corpsman,
Yes, I did my prereqs in Virginia. My child psych class doesn't transfer, so I am needing Human Development...I am thinking of just CLEPing it, though. I did my prereqs almost 2 years ago. LOL I am on the 5 year plan. :nuke:
I am hoping you hear something soon. Even though I got my letter on Saturday, I had to send them a deposit within 2 weeks of the date of the letter, which was March 11th ( I got the letter on the 15th).
Hey...are you thinking of going back to the Navy? My husband is the ROTC
coordinator for the Navy here in NH (and VT, Maine, and I think Mass). I can give you his info so you can call him if you'd like.
Yeah, you would need a BSN, but if you wanted to go back, the ROTC would pay for your school to get it. I will ask my husband...it might be that you would have to be in a BSN program, but they really don't have that here. Well, there is UNH in Manchester, but they told me you have to already have to already be an RN (with 1 year experience) with an associates. And Saint Anselm...I talked to them and they aren't taking any transfer students, so I was out. I was working towards my BSN in Virginia...I got all the chemistries and math and all the classes I needed in Virginia...I had gotten accepted to an Accelerated BSN where it was just straight nursing courses, but yeah...here, there isn't much to choose from.
I went through bootcamp in July 2000. I've been out since July 2004. You?
I haven't completed a lot of the pre reqs for nursing, which is why I'm pretty sure I'm on the wait list. I am taking Human Growth and Development online right now, and am going to take A & P I this summer. I have a lot of transfer credits though, as I am finishing up the MA program at NHCTC--and from my other colleges.
My plan is to (Hopefully..) do the ADN here, then do the RN-to-BSN online, as you can usually do an accelerated program--and I want to work while doing that. After that I want my Master's, the end goal being NP, or ARNP.
I think rivier has a program as well, But I have heard UNH is your best bet they take all your credits from Manch where as some others so not.
I went through the summer of 2002 and got out in 2007...You said you were an FC correct?? I was stationed on a CVN so I dealt with the FC all the time.
Krissy,
I hope you will know something real soon. I think you have some great plans! I am not even 100% sure what I want to do...I know right now my big goal is to get my BSN since I've gotten a lot of the credits to go towards it. I would hate to have to take my chemistry classes all over again...I think some schools don't want them being 5 or 10 years old.

Yes, I was an FC. I didn't really care for it...I wanted something in the medical field, but they suckered me. I was on a DDG.

I got accepted! My heart was pounding when I checked the mail and I noticed the envelope from the school. The deposit is $100. I am sure you will get in. They don't tell you where you are at on the wait list?
I am keeping my fingers crossed and saying prayers for you all!
