Newborn evacuation plans

Do you guys have an evacuation plan in place for newborns and what is it? I am working on updating (hopefully) or at least clarifying our policy/plan and was looking to see what other options are out there.

Thanks in advance!

Not too realistic an idea, but one hospital I worked for had a gown specially made so each nurse would have four pockets big enough to hold an infant, and carry a bag with formula and diapers. It looked as ridiculous as it sounds.

The hospital that did my nurses' training had a baby bus. Kind of a narrow bookshelf on wheels so you could line up about 8 babies in the bus and roll the whole contraption down the hall to the postpartum unit.

We do couplet care and the healthy babies are with the moms. Mom would carry or push in a bassinette her infant out with her. Moms who are not ambulatory would either carry her infant in her arms in the w/c or stretcher, or if the infant is in the nursery, there are aprons made especially for evacuating newborns. AS the above poster said, they have pockets that you put the babies in, I can't remember if each one has 4 or 6 pockets.
