Hi,
I am about to start my first job as an RN in two weeks in an orthopedic/post-surgery pediatric unit.
I am very nervous about it, I have 6 weeks orientation with 2 preceptors, from a newer nurse and an older nurse.
any advice??
thanks!
I wrote this above thread back in jan
now, I have been off orientation for about a week, and I am enjoying my job.
night shift is great!
advice I would give myself.....
well, follow the rules! never take short cuts! always do the right thing.
(silly me!)

:yeah:Glad you enjoy ortho. I've been working there for almost 2 years. I agree, nights are nice compared to busy days!
I did it 22 years, 10 months, and 29 days. Was pretty good most days.
