Newbie Needs Info on Bergen, Holy Name

This is my first post to allnurses. I am currently taking my pre-requisites at Bergen Community and am interested in applying to an evening ADN program in NY/NJ.

If anyone has attended or has information on the programs at Bergen Community or Holy Name (Teaneck) please feel free to drop me a line and share your insight.

Hi, I am in my 1st semester of nursing at Bergen Community, I really like it, it's going really fast! It's a lot of work, but I really like it. I am in the day program but the evening program starts every spring. It's a little stressful getting in because everyone talks about how hard it is to get in but if you take your time and do well on the entrance exam you will be fine.

As far as Holy Name goes, it's really expensive and they only offer a day program that starts every fall.

Both are really good programs though!

Thanks for the info cn2007rn, i am in the middle of my pre-reqs now. yes everyone is nervous about admission. even though bergen is my first choice, I am applying to a few programs in the NYC area.

please, let me know what professors you have or had for A&P I, II or micro. feel free to PM me.

This is my second semester at bergen comm college, i'll be sending my application for the nursing program this jan06. i don't know if you already register but Prof: Amitrano and Tortora are the best for Bio 109 and 209. i'll be sending an application to Holy Name hospital and to orther schools too in case i don't get accepted at bergen. Dont get me wrong i'm very optimistic, but they say so many things about bergen so you gotta have a plan B. anyway i'll be in campus next week we can meet sometimes to talk more.

so far i love Bergen Comm College!

Dr. Betsy also teaches A&P. He is really great! I learned so much from his class.

i am glad to hear good things about the a&P professors. I had prof.steffans for 109 and he was cool with me (i got an A in the class ), but a lot could not get with his teaching style. I take evening classes, so i was not able to get into 209 this semester. by the time i was allowed to register all 3 section were closed. prof. matjeko is popular cause she lets you take home the tests. hopefully, I will get in for the summer, otherwise I will have to take it elsewhere.
