Hello and Welcome, eric1980ph,:balloons:

I have moved your request to the International Nursing forum where you should receive the best response.

Good luck.

Welcome Eric to the International forum.:balloons:

Now, to your questions. Yes, it is true that you do not need to take the CGFNS exam, and can just take the NCLEX-RN exam. However, you will still be required to take the English exams, the IELTS series is acceptable. It is required for immigration purposes, not licensure.

You are unable to apply for licensure until you actually have a completed set of transcripts in hand. You can begin the application process before you actually take your exam in the Philippines. You can get the English exams done while you are still in school, but be aware that the results are only good for two years.

Please read the stickies at the top of the International Forum for much information that will be helpful to you.

Let me know if you have any more questions.............:)

Concentrate first on finishing your nursing. Then take and pass the NLE. After that you can take several steps to achieve your goal. One sure and the less hassle way is to take the NCLEX by applying to the Board of Nursing of the state you want to work. Take the english exams and once you have your CGFNS certificate then it is time to look for an employer to file your petition.

to dale you listen.

concentrate on your studies first.

nobody knows what will happen between now and the time you graduate.

what if by some weird stroke of luck, immigrant nurses aren't that in demand in the US anymore. :uhoh21:

will your heart be still beating nurse, or you'll be back to being a civil engineer?

absurd scenario, i know. i just used it to drive dale's point.
