Newbie ( don't know where to start)

Hi everyone, im new here and I'm still learning how to navigate the site. Hope I posted this thread on the right place. First of all, I'm Opalie from Philippines. I'm a RN and one of my near future plan is to take nclex, my preferred state is Illinois. As a matter of fact, I'm going to reside there next month so I'm asking for your good advises of how am I going to start this nclex journey. Is it better for me start the CES process while I'm here in Phil? If yes could you give me some timeframe in completing docs I need to send? Is one month enough? I'm just worried it may affect my flight in August. On the other hand, what if I opted to start CES while I'm in US already. What docs should I left to my mom. Pls enlighten me.. thanks in advance. Any advices will be greatly appreciated :)

You are already behind if you leave in August. Google the Illinois BON and see what the requirements are.

If you need to send Verificaiton of License from PRC I suggest sending it via FedEx, DHL, etc

Also I suggest not using Philpost if you have to do CES on your transcripts, Have them seal it with official school seal and then pay for FedEx, DHL to send documents to wherever you need to send it in USA.

If they have express service on CES I would suggest paying for it ,that way if there is any issues on transcripts you can address while in Philippines.

It will be much easier getting all this done while you are still in Philippines. Good luck.

Thanks for quick response :) i have one more question what if I opted for starting CES while I'm in U.S already.. what docs should I left to my mom if she's the one who will go to my school and prc? Like tor, rle, diploma, prc license, do I need to leave the original copies? Thanks again

The Board of Nursing of the state you want to practice in will have that information. Most states want information directly from your school or PRC. Now the weird state of California allows individuals to send in their own transcripts and they have had a lot of scammers get licenses from Philippines and other countries due to this practice.

It up to you to do the research and find out what you need, Don't rely on others or second hand information.....
