Hello new friends,
I am hoping to find employment in one of the New York hospitals. I was looking for assistance on studying for the employment exam that most hospitals give to their new nursing employees. I am a NICU nurse, have been for 14+ years and as a result, I guess I got lost in my comfort zone.
I do read a lot of nursing articles and trying to keep up with the other nursing fields but sometimes when you don't use it you loose it.
I know most of the hospitals usually have you take a general nursing exam and I was hoping someone could give me some ideas as to what I should be studying.
I have not taken one of these exams in 10+ years.
Thank you for your help.

They have a study guide ( of course they didn't tell me ) which is published by the ANA or some other nursing governing body. Ask the educators about it.

good luck!
Thank you. :wink2: I don't have a job as yet with them, but I was just planning to study ahead because that's where I would like to work. Its so hard to get in touch with a recruiter there. I'm hoping to find employment in the NICU there. I currently live and work in Florida. Thanks again.

Sorry to bother you, I'm interested in NYP too. Can I ask?
When do you take the employment exam?
Does passing the exam guaranty that you will be hired? or still have to go through interview?
Your response is greatly appreciated! :)
