New York - Illegal Aliens rights to Professional Licenses

They want to allow citizen rights if the Democrat gain control of the state. Even professional licenses like a Nursing Licenses

I thought California was a screwed up state, looks like New York is trying to take over as the land of fruits and nuts...

The Post is a v. conservative paper that is practically a tabloid. I would not get too worked up about anything it publishes. This may well be mostly a ploy to get the GOP base whipped up to turn out to vote in November.

Edited to add: Plus, a state law such as that would be in conflict with current Federal law which prohibits states from issuing professional licenses to individuals without legal authorization to work in the US.

I sure hope it is just hype, It made me rather ticked off if it was true.

As far as Federal Law prohibiting stuff, I lost all faith in Federal Laws having any authority with illegal immigration many many years ago.
