New Travel Nurse

Published

Hi all,

I am new to this board and travel nursing. I have just received an assignment at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City. I will be floating to Ortho, M/S, Renal, Neuro and Oncology. Has anyone traveled to this Hospital before? Anyone work on these floors before? Any hints or tips about this hospital or traveling in general? Thanks so much for your help!

I've never been there but good luck with your new experiences!

Specializes in High & low-risk L&D, ante-/postpartum.

Hi RNmyFriend!

I live in OKC and did my leadership rotation at Mercy about 5 years ago. I did not work any of those units, but the hospital is in a nice part of town and there is a lot of stuff to do nearby (lots of restaurants, couple of nice malls, Dave & Busters, and downtown is not too terribly far). The public transit in OKC leaves something to be desired, so you will have to have a vehicle to get around. Things are very spread out in this city. The facility is nice and the staff I worked with was helpful. I am also considering travel nursing (I have no prior experience with it). I hope you have a positive experience and enjoy your stay!
