New Travel Nurse to Matthews, NC

Hi there! I just accepted my very 1st travel assignment, and will be working in Matthews, NC in L&D at the Novant Med Center there. Just wanted to know others' opinions on the hospital as well as the area. I know Matthews is pretty small suburb town, but I've lived in a town that size growing up so I'm used to it. I did, however, like the fact that certain things were close by like Charlotte, Myrtle Beach, etc.

Welcome to Matthews! I live in Charlotte, about 10 minutes from this hospital. I'm in school at and work for the other big hospital system in town so I don't have any experiences with Presby (now called Novant) other than I know they remodeled a few years ago. Good luck!

Daisybsn...wondering how you like the assignment? How's the staffing, morale, facility ect? I'm thinking about relocating to the area, also in L&D and would appreciate any info you can provide...

I've always been a staff RN but have thought about traveling to help get the real picture before making a big move to NC, which agency do you use?

Sorry. Unfortunately, I don't start my assignment until 5/19 so I can't really be much help to you as of now.
