New Travel Assigment.....PLEASE HELP

Published

Hi Everyone. I am starting my first travel assignment on MONDAY in San Diego. I have been driving cross-country all week from Massachusetts, and will be in go Caliornia on Saturday. I still don't know where I'm supposed to go for orientation on Monday- my recruiter's assistant told me she would send me that info in an email, but she didn't. I just left a voicemail for her and my recruiter, but it's the weekend and I bet they're not going to get the messages. Are they the ones who are supposed to be telling me where to go? Or is the hospital I'm traveling to? I don't know what to think. Please help.

Call the Nurse Manager in the morning. If he/she is not available, contact the charge Nurse on your floor.

I would love to know which travel co you are using so I could avoid them!!

Did you find out where to be? How was your first day? Hope your trip went well, I 'm thinking about driving cross-country next month for my first assignment. jess

yay! Hope your drive went well! I also drove across country Ohio to San Diego last year for an assignment.

To answer your question, it depends on how far in advance you have your contract. Oftentimes your company calls you with the orientation info, but when I went to San Diego, I didn't get the info until the day before and that was by a phone call from the nurse manager.

Also, your company should have someone "on call" for you to contact at ALL TIMES regarding stuff like this.

Cheers!!!
