I know I have to take 4510 first, but have any of you taken anything with it? When I was looking through the admission e-mail it tells you to register for atleast 3 classes for financial aid to be effective and not get messed up. So what do you all recommend?

Hi Lindsey
I just got started in March. I took the first course alone b/c it has been so long since I was in school It is a 6 credit hr course and as such qualifies for financial aid. You have to take 6 hrs. for finacial aid, I think. Are you starting summer or fall? You can take each 5 wk course alone, and you will over the course of the semester take 3 courses which should give you enough credit hours. I would ask your advisor or the office of financial aid.
I know some students didn't have much luck with their advisor, but mine was helpful.

Keep in mind, for full time credits, it is 12 credit hours during the semester. So if you take one class every 5 weeks in a 15 week period, you will meet the requirement. How long has it been since you've been in school? It's an adjustment for the first class, and is A LOT of work. I am taking 2 classes at a time here coming up, but I probably would have struggled a lot. Others may disagree though.
Make sure you look at the schedule of when all the classes are ordered, and plot things out.

I just finished an online statistics class so I am quite comfortable with taking online classes. I am going to register for 5 classes for the first semester starting with 1 class the first 5 weeks because you have to take that class alone. But do you have any suggestions on what I should take together?

Hi thank-you for your reply! I start this fall. I will be going full time so I think I may take 5 courses starting this fall and then 6 next spring and finish up some loose ends in between. Hope all is going well with your schooling!! Do you have any suggestions on classes to double up on?

I think the best way to determine how to double up is to first look at all of the classes that you need.
What electives do you need take? Look at what classes are offered when and start mapping out your schedule.
I'm done with the program, but I doubled up on nursing classes or took a nursing class w/an elective. I needed 4 electives (junior english, stats, nutrition, and art). I think once you map out what all you have take, it's easy to determine what classes you want to double up.
Good luck to you!!

First off CONGRATULATIONS!!! How long did it take you to complete the program? I think you are right I have stats done now and will be taking music and nutrition this fall and might possibly need english. I will plot a little to figure this all out I am just afraid I will do something wrong and pick the wrong class with eachother and make it awful for myself! Thanks!
I agree, first write down all you need to take. See what electives are necessary, because they are not always offered each block. I just started in March, so I'm not really sure on all the classes. Plus with the new combined courses, it's kinda new to everyone. But you will be able to see which nursing classes are offered when. So you just have to kinda go through and see what is offered when, and that will really determine what you take together.
Thanks!! :) I started in Jan 2011 and finished April 2012...Including the 6wk break we get over the christmas holidays. That was my only break. Took 1 class Spr 1 and Spr 2 terms, then doubled up, until I took my last nursing class which I took solo.
Music w/PRof B is extremely easy and if you just do the study guide at the back of every chapter and literally MEMORIZE everything (I know easier said than done), you'll ace nutrition also...I enjoyed business comm w/Prof P. Was my favorite class in the entire program. Good Luck to you!!
Thanks!! Music is ok? Are they proctored tests? Music 120? Nutrition is ok too?!
Music is E-A-S-Y…At least Prof B's class was. Test aren't proctored. You take the practice quizzes, you've basically taken the test. You have to listen to some pieces and interpret what you heard. Just fluff and use the vocab words and you'll be fine. You also have to write a paper on a composer, then you submit to a classmate and they provide their take on your composer. You do the same for your classmate. That was pretty much pointless. My classmate was taking too long to submit her part (waited til the morning of the due date and she still hadn't emailed me her part) , and I was ready to be done w/the class, so I just emailed the Prof. She said just submit my piece, and that was the end of that...
Nutrition is proctored. You have a mid-term and a comprehensive final…. Don't waste your time doing the quizzes on Cengage. They are a waste of time. I just went to Kinkos and copied all of the chapter study guides and answer key. I then studied that for the final test. YOu know they study guides, you know the test. I did the Cengage quizzes for mid-term and boy did I struggle. So learn from my mistake…LOL
Like I said I'm done so if oyu have any more questions don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks Delta!!!
I feel dumb but which Music course is it? There were a couple of different ones when I was looking. Sounds like a piece of cake!
I am thinking about taking Nutrition from my tech school and the tests aren't proctored. I think I will take that. Too hard to find a place to be proctored at.
Thank-you so much for all of the wonderful info and I am sure I will take you up on your offer for asking your questions
