i will be starting clinicals jan '09 and was wondering which book is the best for practicing for the nclex ? i want to start right away that way i am overly prepared once it comes time for me to take it. as you can tell i'm nervous yet anxious to begin!!!!!! also, any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!!
The big three that most of the students in my school have used are KAPLAN, Saunders, and Lippincott. I myself bought the NCLEX review in the "reviews and rationales" series because I've found their other books helpful. Best of luck at your clinicals.

I don't like Lippincott. The most helpful NCLEX book I have found is "Med-Surg Success" by Calgrove & Callicoatt. It gives you rationals, and then strategies on how to answer the particular question. It's really helped me alot in Med/Surg II
That was the text emphasized by the hospital where I was hired and I probably spent more time with that book throughout school and for studying for NCLEX.
