New Student, First level

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

I'm a new LPN student in my first level and I can honestly say that I absolutely love school! For the first time in my life, I like M-F better than the weekends.

I've always wanted to be a nurse and now at 39 (better late than never), though I wish I had gone to school sooner, I feel like I'm working toward something that will ultimately provide the job that I truly love doing.

If anyone out there is contemplating LPN school but is a little scared by the intensity of the program, all I can say is that if you are truly interested in the field of medicine and can make school your #1 priority for a year, you won't regret it.

I was an LPN first, and school was my 'priority' way back when. Glad you feel the same way.

Hello, I know how you feel, I started my LPN program in July, and I am 40 (soon to be 41, this month). I also wish I had started sooner, but owned businesses to make money for the family, and am now finally in a position I can afford to go to school. I am in clinicals now and am REALLY ENJOYING IT. If this is truly what you want to do, you find a way to swing it! Its no easy task, but doable. Good luck to you!:nurse:

I am nearing the end of my LPN program and I am 39. Sometimes I wish that I would have gone to school earlier but then I tell myself, "coulda, shoulda, woulda, but I didn't. I'm looking forward not backward. School is a blast. I feel more confident now than I ever was. I have no doubts that I am exactly where I am suppose to be right now in my life. I say GOOD FOR US!!! Good luck future nurse. :nurse:

flwannabe....how, now looking back (because i remember when you were so unsure of what program you wanted) are you happy with your choice of school?

I am thrilled. It was a bit costly but the education is worth it. Half the school year is clinicals. I feel I will be well prepared to pass the nclex. Plus, I am very fortunate to have made a great group of friends. Thanks for asking. :wink2:
