I am new to this site, and I'm glad to find somewhere to talk about what is going on. I'm 28, married, and have a 3 year old. I have just got my letter that said I got into the RN program that I applied for. :roll I've been going to school for a year now, and was on pins and needles waiting to see if I made it. I live in a very rual town in Arkansas, and the school I applied to only lets 10 peolpe in every 2 years. I'll have to drive almost 2 hours to get to the school, but it is well worth it. I always wanted to be a nurse, but life just go in the way. Now I'm going back after all these years, and getting that letter made it all feel like it was going to happen this time. I'm glad to have found this site, and good luck to all the other student nurses out there.
Thank you all so much for the welcome. The school can't keep nursing teachers, besause of the pay. Thants why the can't let very many peolpe in. The number used to be higher. Thay keep an add in the paper looking for teachers. I've been told Arkansas looses nurses to other states since they have higher pay. I love it here, and I'm not in it for the money anyway.
