So I am 5mo pregnant and started working on fast paced unit (unexpected pregnancy). I work night shift and am also a type 1 diabetic. I've been having complications with my diabetes and working this job. Has anyone had issues during pregnancy and with health issues? I've been told by everyone in my family to leave the job and focus on this pregnancy and being healthy right now. I've been at this job for about 5-6 months now. Will leaving blacklist me from this hospital or hinder me from getting another job in the future? Just needing some advice.

I would suggest talking to your employee health department and/or HR. They may be able to accommodate your health needs by temporarily putting you on a different shift, or modified duty, or shorter hours. Don't assume that your only option is to quit.
Thank you, I will try contacting HR. I'm getting very frustrated because I took a doctor advised medical leave for 4 weeks due to the issues I was having and blacking out while on the floor. Now that I am back my orientation was delayed so I am still in orientation and no one is contacting me about schedules, I find out my schedule for that week/day the week or possibly day of (and end up having to go in that night). This factor also doesn't help with the T1D but maybe if I'm off orientation things will be better. The manager just won't give me any kind of response when I attempt to contact her. Thank you for your response and advice, I will be sure to look into it!
