Hello Everyone !
I am a foreign educated nurse with 10 years of work experience in Germany.
I recently ( 05. Dec ) took the NCLEX - RN and passed on the first try.. yeah, I still cant believe it. I couldnt have done it without this forum !! So, also here a very big Thank YOU !
Here my question. It is a little specific.. ( but I did see that there are some members actually working on post !! )
We are currently stationed on Fort Benning. I am trying to find some info about the application process. I would prefer to work on Fort Benning, since we do stay there as well. But somehow there is no way to find out about open positions on base. Even after talking to Human Resources, they cant give me the contractor list ( I am not a US citizen, but do have a green card, ssn, etc. ), who hires for Martin Army. ACS couldnt help me either.
Is there any info someone can give me?
I am, of course, looking into the Columbus Area as well ! How do I go about finding a position in the civilian sector? I have heared to just call doctors offices and ask, if they are looking for a nurse. Some say to just post a resume online at monster and wait.. I havent applied for a job in the US yet, so I am trying to make sure, I go about it the right way !!
Thank You so, so much !

if you are looking for civillian jobs for the department of the army, go to the army civillian jobsite at www.cpol.army.mil. there are actually a few postings for jobs at fort benning right now--just go to the employment link and then click "search for jobs." you can limit your search to the state of georgia and also limit by occupational series, which for nursing is "0610."
also, if you want to check into contract jobs, spectrum healthcare resources does a lot of staffing for the army facillites you can search their website at http://www.shrusa.com.
good luck in your job search!
Thank you so much for your reply !! I will look into it and keep an eye open for positions !
Again thanks !!
