My experience is on the med-surg side of the bed so I'm out of my element. What tools of the trade do I bring to my first day as a psych nurse ie, stethoscope, drug book, etc?
Are there any tips about safety you'd care to share? Tomorrow (Monday) is my general orientation. I start on the unit on Tuesday and want to come prepared. Any help, words of advice and good vibes you can send this way will be appreciated.
Thanks:D

I dont think you will need to take anything but yourself:) Where I work we have stethesopes on the unit in the nurses station. My co-workers told me not to bring my own, unless I wasnt to lose it.
Stay aware of your surroundings and what pts are doing. Your co-workers will give you tips as you go along. I wish you the best of luck with your new job and I hope your co-workers are as wonderful as the ones I work with.
