Hey everyone. I'm planning to start Nursing school 💃💃💃 this fall as a transfer student from a community college. I've applied to Salem State, American International College, Regis, Anna Maria, Fitchburg state and Worcester state. I'm hoping I get Salem state(number 1 on my list) or American International. I'm taking a phlebotomy/EKG technician course this spring semester hoping I can work with it anytime I'm on vacation from school. I'm 19 and I've heard about how tough nursing school is. Any advice?

Hi yes it's tough but it's manageable if you organize your time right! How do you learn best? I'm a visual learner, and I need to write things down. I buy packs of index cards and colored high lighters. When I make out an index card I include the etiology, pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, how is it diagnosed, what are the interventions, and drugs/treatments.
If you are an auditory learner, you definitely want to buy a good recorder.
Stick to your study schedule and don't get derailed. Once you slip behind, it's pretty hard to catch up. With nursing classes, there isn't just a right answer there is also the rationale for the right answer. So for example you're not just going to learn what position your post op patient should be in, but why.
I read the book The Illustrated Guide to the Nclex the summer before I started my nursing program and that helped me out a lot.
Good luck, I hope you get your first choice.
Thanks a lot for your advice. I appreciate it
