Hi all-
I am just starting my first job as a nurse and Im 4 months pregnant.
I have read some doctors say you can lift patients with assistance if you've been doing that prior to becoming pregnant. Well I did none of this prior to the pregnancy at all. I have an appointment with my doctor but have 2 days of work prior to seeing the doctor. I am really worried about any compromise to my baby due to lifting. This is one of the best thing that happen to me in life I'm so excited about having this baby & I want her & me to be healthy& safe🤰ðŸ¼ðŸ‘¼ðŸ¼ðŸ¼
Can anyone tell me if they were in a similar position starting out as a new nurse mid pregnancy too or what their doctors said or if gave restrictions on? Also I'm wondering on isolation patients too & any drugs we can't handle. How long did you take for maternity leave(short term disability?) and did your insurance stay active. Thank you all so much.

Your first two days of orientation- the only lifting you'll be doing is a pen to fill out forms.
Per TOS- we cannot provide medical advice- you must ask your physician about the issues you raised.
