Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dorrie. I'm a 35 year old mother to 4 amazing kids(monkeys-as i call them) I am starting the nursing program at Massasoit Community College next week. I am terribly nervous, but so excited to begin! Hope to hear from you soon. :uhoh21:

Hi Dorrie, I start MCC too. I'm just as nervous as you. I can't believe it, your the second person I 've met on her that attends Massasoit. The other girl is in her last semester though. Did you do the reading and that damn math test? I left the last two chapters for this week, so I could let them really sink in, before school starts.

Hi Daisy, I did half of the reading and took notes for those chapters-don't know if i was supposed to- I've looked at the math, but between our vacation, and getting my monkeys ready for school, I haven't touched it yet. Strangely enough, right now, my biggest worry is how to get all of my books etc.to class. Do we need to bring them all back and forth everyday? I think I might need a back pack with wheels. Strange what I worry about when left to my own devices.
Dorrie..your funny, I have the same worries. I'm wondering if we have to bring them on the first day of school. ?? Or if we should have a notebook for all those subjects. Math, meds, nutrution, nursing etc.. As far as back packs I was wondering if I should wait till' after class starts and see what books I bring and don't but that is a good question. Because I always love to bring my book during lecture.
It's all so scary. If I'm not finished with my pre-homework yet, how am I going to be able to keep up with daily homework? I thought since my kids are getting older now would be a good time. What if I was wrong? God I hope these doubts pass soon. I've waited too long for this to panic now! Is this normal?
Don't panic, I feel the same way it's very normal. I think now that schools in a week it's just our concerns getting to us. I think once were in the routine we'll be fine. Just read what you can and do the test. I notice a lot of the chapters our on the history of nursing and the diffrent levels.Where as chapters 30 and 31, are actully about patient care. So I would defenitly go over those. As far as the math test, I'm trying to remember how to do all those problems, but if I can't, I'll be down in the ARC. Whatever you do, just remember it's normal to feel this way. I too am trying to get my daughter ready for school and her birthday. And with all that, I'm already starting to feel overwhelmed. But we have to remain calm..lol. It will be okay.
I hope you're right! Worrying about which back pack is so much easier than worrying about the real task! Thanks for the encouragement. How old is your daughter? Is she excited about school? Talk to you soon. Dorrie

Hi Dorrie! Welcome!
I'm starting nursing school in NH next week. I've got 4 chicklets also. It took me a long time, but now they're old enough to fend for themselves for an hour or two after school if need be, so now it's time for mom to go do her thing.
I'm nervous, Nervous, NERVOUS!
Did I mention nervous?
I keep dreaming I'm going to flunk out, that even though I have a high GPA from all of my pre-req's, it doesn't mean squat.
But the people at the school sound sooooo nice, and just talking to the wonderful secretary is soothing and calming.
Best of luck to you!
Hi Whitney,
thanks for the welcome. This is very intimidating, i'm so glad I found this board. It is such a relief to share my worries with people who can TRULY relate. The support is so comforting. I just hope that next year, we'll be able to look at these posts and giggle at our anxiety. Good luck!!
