Congrats! We are so similar! I'm a new grad too and just got my first job in the rehab wing. I heard you get new admission everyday. I though doctors usually comes in the morning? Well good luck! And keep me updated! Btw I'm really not sure if its a good start for us new grads, but we will find out! I believe it is a good start though because we will learn a lot!
hey allnurses! im a new grad lpn fresh off of passing boards and was lucky to land a job and at a nursing and rehab facility. I start orientation tomorrow. The job i was hired for is a "transitional care unit" which is for patients who are fresh out the hospital but not yet ready to go home yet. they would stay a maxium of 20 days. and i would have between 12-14 patients each shif. i would be working the 3-11 shift which i already know is when most doctors do theit rounds. does this sound like a good start for a new grad LPN or is this to much for a new grad? opinions big and small are welcome! i am so scared of losing my license![/quote']Congrats'
Congratulations! I think whatever job you do as a new grad may be scary, overwhelming, and even difficult...but remember, you ARE a nurse now! That license in your corner says you accomplished what many wish for. Stay confident and calm! Letting nerves overtake you can cloud your already overwhelmed brain! And then you'll doubt yourself...DONT! Be a sponge, pace yourself, that confidence will show. Youre going to learn a lot...Best of luck:)
