new lpn in Richmond va

Published

hi everyone, I'm new to Richmond va, I'm an lpn. originally, i have a new York lpn license, but when i came to Richmond, i endorsed my license. i got ny license since august, but never actually practiced, so i still don't have experience and we are currently in February. Im getting ready to start working in April, should i apply as a new nurse with no experience or should i get someone to help me through the application and say i did work for a few months in new York? please kindly share your honest thoughts. thank you all

I hope that I am mistaken but it sounds like you are asking whether or not to lie on an application. Claiming to have experience that you do not actually have is not an option. There is nothing wrong with being a new nurse. We were all new once. My experience sounds somewhat similar to yours. I actually moved from one state to another right after getting my LPN and took a few months off before getting a job. I had no difficulty getting a job in LTC as a new nurse even though I had taken some time off. Your resume/applications should accurately reflect your education and experience. Fabricating any information in order to get a job could have seriously negative consequences.

Good luck.

Yes, LTC will be your best option as LuvScience said. Also, honesty is always the best policy. Some places like brand new nurses because you haven't developed any bad habits from previous practice and they can train you to work in the manner that is a model for their facility.

Hi! Are you having any luck with finding jobs? I'm thinking about getting my license transferred to Virginia.
