New LPN nurse, Interview for a well known hospital on the medical surgical floor.

Published

Hi all, I am a new LPN nurse and have been applying for all types of positions. I recently got a call for a position in a hospital on a med/surg floor. I am completely excited but terrified. I have no idea what to expect as far as interview questions. I know the basics, tell me about yourself, why should we hire you, ect. But is there anything else that I should be focusing on to make sure I can secure this job? This will be my first interview, and first job working as a LPN (Lord willing). I really want this!!! Any and all help would be appreciated!!!!

Specializes in Certified Med/Surg tele, and other stuff.

How would you handle an emergent situation, difficult co worker, delegate (if you do so to CNA's)to those that don't want delegation,

your strengths and weaknesses.

Whatever you do, don't tell them that 'this is only a stepping stone' and you reeeaally want to work ED, L&D, etc..

They won't want to put the training into someone who is going to leave.

Know the history, mission statement of the hospital and why you want to work at this particular facility.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks so much!!! Interview is on Monday. :nurse:
