Hello!
So, as graduation gets closer and the nclex doesn't seem so far away I'm looking for suggestions of good facilities to begin my career as a new LPN.
I'm in southern NJ Camden, Atlantic, Gloucester county but am willing to travel to Philadelphia.
I understand that my first orientation will lay the foundation down for the type of nurse I'll be with the orientation I receive. Any suggestions? I'm a cna with about 10 years of experience and am looking to get my foot in the door so a transfer may be possible once i pass nclex. My experience as a tech has always been in Med surg/ specialty floor in the hospital so I'm not sure what "good" LTC and subacute facilities are around. Thanks for suggestion in advance!!!

You can always look online with your state's department of health to look into the facility's inspection report; look at employee reports like on Indeed.

There are plenty of jobs in Philadelphia as there are SNFs on every corner. As far as a good orientation, that's the luck of the draw. I'd love to precept you as I have been an LPN for 12 years in a SNF and have been precepting for 10 of those years. Try looking on Indeed.com, Mid-Atlantic Healthcare and New Courtland are great places to start as a new grad. Also, don't limit yourself to just LTC, home care, methadone clinics, prisons, and community health organizations are looking to hire you as well.
Thank you!!!!
