Hiiii. I haven’t been in school since October 2019 and I just got my license in January; starting my first job as an LVN in a SNF. Any tips/pointers for time management? Documenting? Procedures? super nervous to start. I’ve been a medical assistant for 7 years and this time I actually have a license!!!
My advice is follow the "seasoned LPNs", ask tons of questions, don't do any procedures or pass any meds you are uncomfortable with or not sure about!" There is No dumb question in nursing! Good luck!
Avoid the drama, take your time, have your own BP cuff (you'll need it), organize who needs what, prioritize your patients, get along with your CNAs and supervisors, be careful when passing and charting your narcotics, and make sure you take your breaks.
