New Guy - LVN & RN advice

Published

Hey guys, I use to be a pre-med student here in california and pretty much finished all my pre-med classes; (all O-Chems, Bios, Mircos, Physics ect.) and could not get into any school here in Cali because my lack of a 3.5gpa. Soooo I am trying to get into RN school and cannot do that either because such a LONG waiting list and lack of a few classes (stats & Phyc). So I am looking into doing the LVN - BSN route. Is this the best and fastest way for me??? Eventually I plan to get my MSN so I can become a CRNA. Also, what is the % of males in these programs and does it benefit being a male at all????? Oh ya, and does this mean I can bypass a percentage of LVN school because of all the med classes I have already taken???

Thanks

I attended a private LVN program in Southern California back in '04 and '05. There were 24 students in the class, and 8 of them were males.

I seriously doubt you could bypass "a percentage" of any LVN program by having your premed courses completed, although you may wish to place telephone calls to several LVN programs to obtain a final answer. I know several people with previous BS degrees in chemistry, public health, and so forth, who decided to complete an LVN program as a second career. None of these people were allowed to bypass any aspects of the LVN program.

Good luck to you, and welcome!
